A large-leaved perennial plant that spreads by rhizome with showy pinkish flowers, it serves as an important larval host plant for monarch butterflies and loved by many other pollinator species as well. Easy to grow, give it room to spread by rhizome. Once your Showy milkweed becomes established, it will start spreading underground via its rhizomes.  If you'd like to control spread, consider planting in a raised bed or container.
