Requires no fertilizer but can be given a very light dose of a balanced fertilizer in spring

Place in well-drained areas, mimic its native rugged rocky habitat, use 'hands off' approach to watering, proactive approach to winter drainage, full sun, 'soak and dry' method to watering, avoid heavy fertilizing, cut back stems to base in late summer
