Fertilizer:

Apply a balanced (10-10-10) liquid fertilizer at half strength once a month during spring and summerm or use a skow rekease fertilizer in spring

Mulch:

Apply a 1-2" layer of organic mulch such as shredded bark, leaf mold, or pine needles in spring

Requiires partial to full shade, moist well-drained humus rich soil, protection from harsh winds, spring cleanup of dead fronds, divide every 3-4 years, remove fronds that have lost their 'frizy' beeded appearance

Clear cut old foliage to groung level before new fronds emerge, divide every few years
